This is the story of an outbound market researcher. We like to pretend we're not scum like telemarketers... but we're close. We spend our days making calls to people who don't want to hear from us. We try to get people to answer stupid questions that they don't want to answer and whose answer is often just nonsense.

Even if you've avoided working a call centre, you've probably been on the other end of the phone. "Who are these people?" You've probably never asked yourself because you're not in the habit of really thinking about anything. This is that story, the story you've never even really considered having existed.
